Area Law Enforcement
Roughly 50 cars have been covered with what appears to be human blood in the German city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.
Automobiles, exterior walls and postal boxes were vandalized, in some cases with prohibited symbols, they stated in a release.
Officers report they were notified during the night on Wednesday night, when a individual observed that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a reddish substance.
The fluid had been applied in the form of a Nazi symbol, they reported.
Police then located numerous other smeared automobiles and house walls in the surrounding area.
Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under legislation outlawing the public display of Nazi symbols.
Officials state early analysis suggest the fluid was probably blood from a person.
"At present there remains no indication as to its origin; officials are currently not cognizant of any harm in relation with the occurrence," they stated.
Municipal representatives announced they were trying "to resolve the mystery" and have requested to the public for details.
An important representative stated the incident made him speechless and needed to be addressed rapidly.
"This act strikes at the core of Hanau and reopens the pain of the right-wing attack half a decade ago," he wrote on social media, recalling the death of nine individuals by a shooter focusing on people of foreign heritage in 2020.
